The incidence of SARS and influenza in Karelia among the total population is 1.2 times higher than the epidemic threshold. This was reported in the republican department of Rospotrebnadzor. Over the past week, 12,280 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza were detected, the incidence rate is 201.6 per 10,000 people. Compared with the previous week, there is a decrease in the incidence among the total population by 8.3%. The highest incidence is still noted among children. Due to the increased incidence of SARS and influenza, the activities of 10 groups in 7 MDOUs of the republic (Sortavalsky, Belomorsky, Kemsky, Lahdenpohsky, Olonets, Prionezhsky) were suspended.

Also in the region in all age groups there is a decrease in the number of cases of Covid-19. During the week, 163 cases of the disease were registered. Compared to last week, the incidence rate decreased by 24.5%. 61 people were hospitalized with a diagnosis of SARS over the past week.

Last month, due to the increased incidence of acute respiratory viral infections in a number of regions of Karelia, restrictions were imposed on mass events. At the same time, restrictive measures were advisory in nature, depending on the epidemiological situation individually for each organization and did not imply a complete cancellation of events.
