A negative PCR test for CORONAVIRUS will not last 72 hours, but 48 hours, due to the spread of the omicron strain, Anna Popova, HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor, said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council under the government to combat covid-19 .

“Taking into account the characteristics of the new strain of omicron, its increased infectivity and potential ability to cause a much faster response of the body, we have decided to limit the duration of the PCR test not to 72 hours, but to 48,” Popova said.
