In the Nizhny Novgorod region, mandatory vaccination against CORONAVIRUS has been introduced for citizens aged 60 and over, the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reported.
This decision was made by the chief state sanitary DOCTOR of the Nizhny Novgorod region Natalia Kucherenko due to the tense epidemiological situation with covid-19 .
The first component of the vaccine or a single-component vaccine must be administered by December 17, 2021, the second component by January 7, 2022. Health workers, if necessary, will vaccinate pensioners at home.
The requirement for mandatory vaccination does not apply to persons who have a contraindication to prophylactic vaccination. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod who have contraindications to vaccination should pay special attention to compliance with preventive measures: mask regime, social distance, observe hand hygiene, and, if possible, switch to remote work to minimize contacts and maintain health.
Kucherenko explained that in November 2021, the incidence of coronavirus in Nizhny Novgorod over 60 years old increased by 31%, and it is in this age group that severe and complicated forms of coronavirus infection most often develop. “This was introduced, first of all, to ensure the safety of risky groups of the population. We appeal to this category of citizens not to endanger themselves and get vaccinated,” added the HEAD of the department of Rospotrebnadzor.
