From this day on, anyone over the age of 16 can get vaccinated in Estonia, ERR reports, citing the vaccination working group. Estonian authorities have clarified that AstroZeneca's vaccine will be used for people over 50, while Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen will be given to people under 50.
Kathrin Reinhold, HEAD of the vaccination application portal, said at the end of last week that the rate of registrations was reaching 1,000 people per hour, which caused outages in the site, reports ERR. The head of the Estonian vaccination program, Marek Zeer, said on the air of the Aktuaalne kaamera show that there is a positive side to the news about the failures.

“As cynical as it sounds, I am happy about this [website outage] because it shows that the vaccination acceptance rate is high, which means that the 70 percent goal [of vaccinating the Estonian population] will be reached by the end of August Zeer said.
In mid-March, Estonia had to enter a lockdown for a month due to the spread of the British strain of coronavirus. Strict restrictions have suspended the work of gyms, schools, catering, entertainment organizations and shops, with the exception of points of sale of essential goods.
