Travnikov demanded to stop the artificial rise in prices for goods

In the Novosibirsk region, it is necessary to expand the list of retail outlets subject to monitoring of consumer prices, to involve the FAS, the prosecutor's office and other federal departments in this work. This was announced by Governor Andrei Travnikov at an operational meeting in the government of the region.

Indicators of current natural inflation will be higher than last year. Prices, including those for essential goods, will be affected by exchange rate differences, interest rates on loans and rising costs of logistics routes

“What we saw in the first weeks of March, when some stores, even chain stores, tried to raise prices for certain items of products and goods, is definitely not related to natural inflation,” Travnikov said.

The rise in prices, the governor noted, was influenced by the desire to take advantage of the situation and earn extra money. Established control over the work of outlets, stocks and deliveries, brings effect.

“It is possible to influence the situation, and the artificial inflation that some market participants are heating up can be contained,” Travnikov added.
