Soldiers and officers should remember about eternal life when, in the performance of military duty, they are required to sacrifice their health or life for the sake of the Motherland. This, according to RIA Novosti, was announced by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill during a service in honor of the anniversary of the consecration of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, the main temple of the armed forces.

“The very name of this temple is an appeal to all military personnel: Christ is Risen, and we will all be resurrected with him, and life is eternal. Therefore, go boldly fulfill your military duty. And remember that if you laid down your life for the Motherland, for your friends, then you will be with God in His Kingdom, glory, eternal life,” said Patriarch Kirill.

The Temple of the Armed Forces is located in Patriot Park near the town of Kubinka in the Moscow region. According to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, it was from there in 1941 that Soviet troops began to move to the West. Its consecration took place on June 14 last year.
