The heads of three clinics near Moscow supported an appeal to opinion leaders and politicians who oppose covid vaccinations and quarantine measures taken by the government. Earlier, the chief physicians of several hospitals, headed by Denis Protsenko, the HEAD physician of the hospital in Kommunarka, wrote an open message (available to RBC) to 12 of the most well-known critics of vaccination and to all anti-vaxxers in general. In the message, doctors invited opponents of vaccination to visit the "red zones" of hospitals where patients with covid-19 are, intensive care units and morgues.
Andrey Fadeev, chief physician of the Odintsovo Regional Hospital, told RBC that vaccination is the only way to stop the pandemic. “I fully agree with the opinion that it is necessary to vaccinate the largest possible number of people in our country. Because we see that this is the only way to stop this pandemic at the moment. The fourth wave has already passed and it is still unknown how many waves will be ahead and, of course, we have no other way out, like vaccination, ”Fadeev said.
He noted that of the thousand COVID patients currently being treated at his clinic, only 30 people have received vaccinations, and the rest are unvaccinated. “97% of people are not vaccinated, who are seriously ill, are in intensive care, are on ECMO machines. And now when you talk to them and ask why you are not vaccinated, as a rule they deeply regret this, ”Fadeev explained.
The chief doctors invited the leaders of anti-vaxxers on excursions to intensive care units and mortuaries Society
According to Andrey Osipov, chief physician of the Domodedovo Central City Hospital, anti-vaccination propaganda causes irreparable harm and leads to an increase in the number of victims of the disease. “There is a certain group of the population that does not want to be vaccinated. Not only does she herself not want to be vaccinated, but she also convinces others, relatives, and friends of this. We see that COVID spares no one and, probably, it touched every family in one way or another: children, parents, acquaintances, relatives,” he said.
