Two residents of Tatarstan are accused of fraud in the amount of 34 million rubles. This was announced by the senior assistant to the HEAD of the Investigative Committee of the TFR in the Republic of Tatarstan Andrey Sheptytsky.

“In 2019, a resident of the city of Kazan decided to purchase a plot for construction in the village of Osinovo, Zelenodolsk district, and met one of the accused, who was recommended to him as a person who could help him. The latter promised to resolve the issue with officials of the executive committee of the Zelenodolsk region, who, for illegal monetary compensation, would allegedly ensure his victory in the auction for the sale of the site. In addition, they agreed that the intruder would help in buying another plot in the village of Rempler. Later, he introduced him to the second defendant, who also promised to assist in the auction,” he said.

According to investigators, in the period 2019-2021, the man handed over to the attackers money in the amount of 34 million rubles, as bribes to employees of the district executive committee for communications, guarantees for the acquisition of plots, and so on. At the same time, the auction did not take place, which the attackers explained by the covid-19 pandemic .

“They appropriated the money received from the man. The unlawful activities of the accused were stopped after the man turned to law enforcement agencies in the spring of 2021,” Sheptytsky said.

it is noted that the defendants refused to testify, but one of them partially admitted involvement in the crime. In relation to the accused, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was chosen. The criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to COURT.
