“The department sent relevant requests for information to distributors and major suppliers of granulated sugar in the region, as well as to regional retail chains. Based on the results of the analysis, the Department plans to establish in which link of the commodity-producing chain the prices for this product have increased, and also to assess the validity of the increase in such prices,” the OFAS said.

The department noted that if violations and perpetrators are identified, measures will be taken - up to bringing to administrative responsibility.
