Meeting at the Belarusian Foreign Ministry: Belarus and Zimbabwe are promoting cooperation in the agro-industrial complex

June 9, MINSK . On June 9 , Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik met with Minister of Land, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water Resources and Rural Development of the Republic of Zimbabwe Ankshius Masuka. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The interlocutors stressed the friendly and mutually respectful nature of bilateral relations. They reaffirmed their commitment to the full implementation of the agreements in the field of agriculture and food production in achieving food security in Zimbabwe. The issues of supplies of agricultural machinery and equipment from Belarus to this country, the possibility of using advanced Belarusian experience and technologies in creating agro-industrial enterprises in Zimbabwe were discussed.

 

 

Ankshius Masuka conveyed a special message from the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the President of the Republic of Belarus.

 

The visit of the Minister of Agriculture of Zimbabwe is an important element in the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Belarus ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO to Harare in January 2023, as well as the visit to our country by the First Lady of Zimbabwe in April.

 

As part of their stay in Belarus, the Zimbabwean delegation intends to visit Belarusian MILK and MEAT processing enterprises, take part in the 33rd international agricultural exhibition Belagro, as well as in the first meeting of the Belarusian-Zimbabwean working group on cooperation in the field of agriculture.
