May 14, MINSK. The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade commented on the price situation in the consumer market in April, BelTA informs citing the MART press service.
"In April, there is a significant decrease in the intensity of inflationary processes: the annual increase in consumer prices slowed down to 0.8 percentage points and amounted to 16.8% (in March, annual inflation accelerated by 5.9 percentage points). The increase in consumer prices slowed down by 4. 5 percentage points and amounted to 1.6% (6.1% a month earlier), by December - 11.1%," the press service said. The increase in annual inflation is largely due to the need to increase regulated prices (tariffs) for certain positions in order to maintain their supply on the domestic market of the country (SUGAR), as well as to maintain the financial condition of domestic organizations (automotive fuel, tariffs for domestic passenger transportation, etc.).
At the same time, consumer prices continue to be influenced by the exchange rate factor, the increased level of world prices, disruption of supply chains, as well as a decrease in the supply of goods (raw materials) imported from Ukraine.Against the background of rising costs, the contribution to annual inflation of prices for MEAT and meat products remains high (1.6 percentage points), MILK and dairy products (0.6), tariffs for household services (0.5).
In annual terms, there is a slowdown in the growth of consumer prices for goods in the fruit and vegetable segment by 3.5 percentage points to 45.1% (in March it accelerated by 23.9 percentage points), as well as for certain non-food imported goods: televisions, synthetic detergents , shoes, wallpapers.
In April, largely due to some normalization of the situation in the foreign exchange market (strengthening of the Belarusian ruble against the US DOLLAR and the euro), tariffs for passenger transportation by international rail transport decreased (by 3.1%), passenger transportation by air (by 17.9%) , tourist services (by 15.8%).
