2 November, Mosty. President of Belarus
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted the successes in the development of the Grodno Region at a ceremony honoring farmers during the festival and fair "Dazhynki-2024" in Mosty, BelTA has learned.
"The Grodno Region, as one of the agricultural leaders, is steadily moving forward in all areas," the
HEAD of state said. "The more than 2.2 million tonnes of the main Belarusian gold - grain and leguminous crops - harvested this year are impressive."
Traditionally, the region comes out on top in terms of yield - almost 55 centners per hectare, which, of course, is strikingly different from 32 centners per hectare in the 1990s. Moreover, there are farms where this figure exceeds a hundred. These are agricultural enterprises of the Grodno District: V.I. Kremko, "Svisloch" and "Grodnensky".
"It is time to reach new heights - to steadily reach 2.5 million tons in threshing output,"
ALEXANDER LUKASHENKO set the task. "The region has everything for this. We need to add a little responsibility and organization."The President noted that the current results of the Grodno region are certainly not accidental. They have been able to plan here since Soviet times, they observe technologies, implement advanced methods and work tirelessly. For example, in the procurement of feed, they have introduced so-called intermediate crops and "northern soybeans" - white lupine. Therefore, the
MILK yield is excellent, by the end of the year they should receive more than 7.5 thousand kg from a cow. And
the milk is mainly of the extra grade.
it is not for nothing that the Grodno region is the only region in the country where dry milk formulas for children are produced.
"We are currently trying to implement many, many projects, "One District, One Project". We invest huge amounts
of money and sometimes grab onto projects where we have no competence. We grab onto what we do not know how to do. And we do not know whether we will be able to sell what we produce or not. And milk formulas, baby milk (I have been to the south of Africa, traveled all over the world) - just give us. There is nothing to feed children in the world. So what are we inventing? Let's build another plant and produce even better baby formula," the head of state suggested.
According to him, this applies to many areas, for example, wood processing. "There is a great demand for sawn timber, timber all over the world. What we dreamed of. I said: the time will come - and we will sell this, and how we will sell it," Alexander Lukashenko noted.
"It is good that all achievements, quantitative indicators grow into the quality of life of people (maybe not very quickly due to the fact that we have become competitors and are beginning to be strangled). This is the main principle of our social state, the state for the people - the life of people, - the President emphasized. - Any production successes, be it in agriculture or industry, should be aimed at improving the lives of our people."
In terms of wages, the Grodno region is close on the heels of the capital and the capital region. And, according to Alexander Lukashenko, it has the potential to catch up with them.
The head of state noted that it was in the Grodno region that the era of peaceful atom began - the first domestic nuclear power plant was built and put into operation. Ostrovets, where it is located, has become the regional center of the future. In terms of its infrastructure and capabilities - a model that others can follow.
"As well as the capital of today's "Dazhynki". Your city has become strikingly prettier and is completely different from those Bridges that greeted me in 1997 at the second republican "Dazhynki", - the President continued. - Local residents poetically call Bridges a little Paris. You are mistaken. Believe me, Bridges today are more attractive than Paris itself. Broken shop windows, burned cars, bedbugs, crime, solid migrants - we saw all this in reports from the Olympic Games. And the dirty Seine River is not fit to hold a candle to our majestic, full-flowing Neman. Especially in the area of Bridges, where the largest suspension bridge in Belarus (almost 200 meters) is located."
