Photo BUTB January 22, MINSK . The Chinese company Taomu (Suzhou) Information Technology, which became the largest foreign buyer of lumber at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange at the end of 2023, plans to scale its business in Belarus. At the same time, we are talking not only about increasing the import of lumber through BUCE, but also about purchasing other Belarusian goods popular in CHINA. This was stated by the founder and DIRECTOR of Taomu (Suzhou) Information Technology, Chen Deguo, during a meeting with the management of BUCE in Minsk, BelTA was told in the press service of the exchange.

“Last year we purchased over 142 thousand cubic meters of lumber on the exchange. This is almost 4 times more than a year earlier. This year we will continue to increase purchase volumes, and may also try to work in other product areas. Firstly We, of course, are interested in agricultural products , namely MILK powder , rapeseed oil and SUGAR . That is, what is definitely in demand on the Chinese market . And through the exchange we will immediately get access to all Belarusian producers. This point is especially important for us ", emphasized the Chinese businessman.

Chairman of the Board of BUCE Alexander Osmolovsky suggested that Taomu (Suzhou) Information Technology not limit itself to importing Belarusian products and consider the possibility of supplying Chinese-made goods to Belarus , including as part of import substitution. “Our electronic platform for trading industrial and consumer goods can become a convenient entry point into the Belarusian market for Chinese exporters. Last year alone, about 3 thousand enterprises from Belarus used the platform, concluding more than 39 thousand transactions with import-substituting products. Based on the sales structure , the most in demand are industrial equipment and tools, spare parts and components, computer equipment and electrical equipment. All this is produced in China and could be sold to Belarusian consumers through our trading platform. Therefore, we count on your assistance in attracting Chinese manufacturers to the auction. Moreover, in As a stock broker, you have every right to engage in such activities,” noted Alexander Osmolovsky.

In order to further deepen cooperation in the field of exchange trading, the parties also agreed to work on the issue of integrating the BUCE platform and the electronic marketplace Taomu (Suzhou) Information Technology, to which banking and logistics services are already connected. it is expected that this will allow Belarusian exporters accredited at BUCE to more effectively promote their products in China, interacting with their end consumers.
