A graduate of the Gorsky State Agrarian University (North Ossetia) Alan Dzhagaev developed a drug based on medicinal herbs of the North Caucasus as an alternative to antibiotics.
The young scientist noted that the law “On Organic Products”, which entered into force in March 2020, became an incentive, according to which producers of organic food receive a number of benefits. At the same time, one of the conditions for livestock breeders was the rejection of antibiotics as growth stimulants.
The composition of the drug, which Dzhagaev offers, includes astragalus, echinacea, pharmacy chamomile and eleutherococcus. Astragalus, rich in selenium, improves metabolic processes and increases muscle mass gain. Echinacea extract serves to prevent complications after vaccination. The bactericidal effect of chamomile provides cleansing of the bird's intestines from pathogenic microflora. Eleutherococcus is an immunostimulant with antifungal and antiviral activity.
The drug has already been tested on a poultry farm, where all the livestock were divided into three groups. One received traditional antibiotics, the second - a phytobiotic invented by Dzhagaev, the third - vitamins and dietary supplements. The immunity of birds grown without antibiotics was stronger. In the group of chickens treated with antibiotics, four out of 20 individuals died. In the second group, all broilers not only survived, but also gained an average of 500 grams more weight.
