Foci of African swine fever have been identified in the Voronezh region

On Friday, October 20, the territories of the farm of Agroeko-Voronezh LLC in the vicinity of the village of Novomelovatka and the production buildings of Agroeko-Vostok LLC were recognized as epizootic foci. The boundaries of the threatened zone are established within a radius of 20 kilometers around. In accordance with the decree of the Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, quarantine in the Vorobyovsky, Kalacheevsky and Petropavlovsky districts will be in effect until January 24, 2024. The elimination of outbreaks is supervised by the regional veterinary department.

Two days later, on October 22, pork with genetic material of the ASF virus was discovered at Bobrovsky MEAT Processing Plant LLC in the village of Prigorodny, Kalacheevsky district. The infected facilities were six refrigeration chambers and a workshop for the production of protein and vitamin concentrates.
