The senator congratulated ROSSELKHOZNADZOR on its 20th anniversary and expressed gratitude for the fruitful cooperation, which allows us to successfully solve complex problems. He noted that the Russian agro-industrial complex continues to strengthen its position in international markets, which makes the work of Rosselkhoznadzor even more important.

- Our agricultural producers sold products worth $43.5 billion to more than 150 countries in 2023. In these conditions, the work of Roselkhoznadzor is important. Undoubtedly, the priority of the department remains the issue of providing the population of our country with high-quality and safe products,” said Belan Khamchiev.

He noted the success of Rosselkhoznadzor in digitalization and implementation of modern information systems, which helps improve control and supervision in the agricultural sector. The Federation Council Committee for Agricultural and Food Policy and Environmental Management was directly involved in the digital transformation of the department.

Work was also carried out jointly on the adoption of a number of federal laws, for example, “On the safe handling of pesticides and agrochemicals”, which improved the procedure for carrying out control (supervision) measures in relation to pesticides and agrochemicals imported into the Russian Federation from foreign countries, as well as in protecting bees from exposure to pesticides and agrochemicals.

Regarding veterinary medicine and phytosanitary, a number of important changes have been made in the legislation: the possibility of organizing the disinfection of vehicles entering the territory of RUSSIA from countries where outbreaks of contagious animal diseases have been recorded, the procedure for issuing veterinary accompanying documents has been clarified, the procedures for carrying out quarantine phytosanitary disinfection of regulated animals have been regulated crop products.

“The plans for 2024 are to continue work to improve the current legislation, for example, in terms of increasing the efficiency of veterinary, phytosanitary, seed, land and other types of state control, including at checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation, as well as in the field of control of safe handling pesticides and agrochemicals,” said Belan Khamchiev.
