Experts discussed the epizootic situation in the region, as well as measures aimed at preventing the introduction and spread of particularly dangerous animal diseases.

A day earlier, on September 21, an interregional command and staff exercise to eliminate a conditional outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza was held in the village of Ust-Zaostrovka, Omsk district.

The readiness of the combined anti-epizootic squad was assessed by Deputy DIRECTOR of the Veterinary Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA Andrey Mukovnin, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk Region Nikolay Drofa, heads of territorial departments of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR, as well as specialists from the Federal State Budgetary Institution "ARRIAH."

According to the legend of the exercises, a mass death occurred after a batch of quails from a neighboring region was delivered to the farm. During the event, specialists from the Office of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Omsk Region, the Main Directorate of Veterinary Medicine of the region, and law enforcement agencies developed operational interaction skills.

The participants were shown the equipment and means necessary to eliminate the outbreak, sampling, processing of premises and vehicles, disposal of dead birds were carried out, a quarantine zone was established and mobile quarantine posts were deployed.

For the Omsk region, where the poultry population has just been restored after the outbreak of avian influenza in 2020, holding such events is very important.

The interregional exercises confirmed the readiness of federal and regional authorities to immediately implement a set of measures to prevent the spread, localize and eliminate the outbreak of the disease if it occurs.
