UAE may recognize Russian Halal certificates

As the press service of the Russian department reported, we are talking about a memorandum of understanding in the field of accreditation of Halal certification bodies.

“The document provides for the recognition of Russian Halal certificates in the UAE after the implementation of the accreditation scheme for Halal certification bodies in the national accreditation system, including taking into account GSO standards. This, in turn, will reduce technical barriers and facilitate bilateral trade between the UAE and RUSSIA in relation to Halal products,” noted the Federal Accreditation Agency.

According to Skrypnik, reports  TASS , the memorandum will become the basis for further close cooperation on issues of recognizing the accreditation of Russian Halal certification bodies. “The Halal sector is important both for the domestic market and for exports. it is fundamentally important for us to reduce trade barriers between our countries,” he emphasized.
