Kursk agricultural producers increase the number of goats, sheep and cattle.

 

Kurskstat calculated the number of animals in the agricultural organizations of the region for the first two months of 2021.

“Compared to the same period in 2020, the number of pigs decreased by 4.9 percent in the Kursk region. At the same time, they began to breed more goats and sheep (an increase of 8.4 percent), as well as cattle (+1.7 percent),” the Kurskstat reported.

In January-February of this year, Kursk agricultural organizations produced 92.3 thousand tons of MEAT (93.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2020), 33.2 thousand tons of MILK (an increase of 1.4 percent). In agricultural organizations of Glushkovsky, Lgovsky, Manturovsky, Medvensky, Pristensky and Sovetsky districts, the production of meat and milk is higher than the level of January-February 2020.

The leaders in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight are the agricultural organizations of the Pristensky, Konyshevsky, and Gorshechensky districts. Their share is 57.1 percent of the regional production.

A quarter of the entire regional milk production is provided by Belovsky and Bolshesoldatsky districts.
