The level of cattle agricultural insurance in Russia reached a record 25% in 2024

Compared to crop production, the situation in livestock farming appears more optimistic: the coverage of pig and poultry farming exceeds 60% of the total livestock. Statistics show that 13 million hectares of crop land in 72 regions of Russia have been insured this year, with small farms accounting for about a third of all contracts.

Since the introduction of agricultural insurance in 2018, there has been significant dynamics - the coverage of crop areas by insurance has increased from 1.5% to more than 20% at the moment. While in the US and Canada this figure is about 80%, in Russia it continues to grow. In the south of the country, the largest number of insurance payments was recorded in the amount of 1.45 billion rubles, which is more than half of all compensation paid in 2024 .
