Tyumen deputies appreciated the decrease in the incidence of bovine leukemia

In the Tyumen region, the incidence of leukemia in cattle (cattle) on average in the region decreased to 8.8%. Deputy Governor, DIRECTOR of the Department of Agroindustrial Complex Vladimir Cheimetov reported on the situation during the meeting of the Agrarian Committee of the Regional Duma.

Bovine leukemia virus in cows is one of the most dangerous diseases, leading to structural changes in internal organs and other irreversible consequences. Therefore, much attention is paid to prevention.

In 2020, 101 settlements, as well as 8 farms, have been improved. Thus, zero infection was recorded in 618 settlements. The most significant decrease was observed among entrepreneurs and in peasant (private) farms - from 29.1% to 17.2%.

“We always put livestock issues at the forefront. The past year has been fruitful in the work with leukemia, which is important. - commented Vladimir Konev, Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Issues and Land Relations. — it is no secret that most territories suffer from this disease. The work has been carried out for many years, but last year there was a decrease in the incidence of animal husbandry in all municipal districts.”

Vladimir Anatolyevich also congratulated the villagers for a fruitful year. In the Tyumen region, the production of MILK increased by 4.2%, livestock and poultry for slaughter - by 2.3%. In terms of the production of milk and eggs per capita, the region ranks first in the Ural Federal District.
