During an inspection of the Mercury system of the Federal State Information System “VetIS” for compliance with established standards in the process of manufacturing canned meat in the Tver Region, an entrepreneur was found violating the rules.
In accordance with the Customs Union regulations concerning the safety of meat and meat products, the shelf life of canned goods in the manufacturer's warehouse to guarantee microbiological stability and safety must be at least 11 days. However, an individual entrepreneur from Tver, engaged in the production and sale of such products, on June 24, 2024 , registered a production eVSD for pork stew and on the same day issued three transport eVSDs for sending products to the Yaroslavl and Moscow regions under "sale for human consumption".
A study of online platforms showed that the same entrepreneur sells his goods through a large online marketplace. A comparison of reviews on the marketplace website and data in the Mercury system of the FGIS VetIS revealed that the necessary production eVSDs are not issued for products sold online , which indicates the introduction of products of unknown origin into circulation, thereby violating veterinary regulations.
According to Federal Law No. 29-FZ of 02.01.2000 “On the quality and safety of food products”, the sale of food products for which traceability cannot be ensured is prohibited.
