At the same time, MILK production for the reporting period decreased by 1.4%, to 103 thousand tons.

Eggs in the farms of the region last year produced 247.8 million pieces, which is 9.7% less than a year earlier.

Farms of all categories in the Smolensk region, as of December 31 last year, kept 109.9 thousand heads of cattle (an increase of 0.2%), including 45.8 thousand cows (a decrease of 2.4% ), pigs - 281.4 thousand heads (an increase of 38.1%), sheep and goats - 8.3 thousand heads (an increase of 7.7%), poultry - 1 million heads (a decrease of 6.4% ).
