Since the opening of the Russian market for the supply of food eggs from Azerbaijan and Turkey, the import of more than 42 million eggs has been controlled

6 Azerbaijani enterprises and 21 Turkish companies have  permission to EXPORT table eggs .

In total, 29.3 million eggs arrived from Azerbaijan to Russia: in December 2023 - 1.2 million pieces, in the 1st quarter of 2024 - 28.1 million pieces.

The first batch of Azerbaijani table eggs was brought to RUSSIA on December 19, 2023 through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint. 

The decision to open the Russian market for the import of food eggs from Azerbaijan was made in November 2023 based on the results of negotiations between the HEAD of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR Sergei Dankvert and the Chairman of the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan Goshgar Tahmazli during the visit of the head of the Russian department to the republic.

According to the results of the 1st quarter of this year, 12.6 million pieces of edible eggs were imported from Turkey to the country, while a batch weighing 51.9 tons - 885.6 thousand pieces - arrived at the port of Novorossiysk for the first time on January 27. 

The possibility of importing these products from a number of Turkish enterprises was approved by Rosselkhoznadzor from November 23, 2023. The first batch of eggs from Turkey arrived in Russia on January 3, 2024 through the Yarag-Kazmalyar checkpoint. 

At the same time, Belarus remains a stable supplier of edible eggs to Russia. According to FSIS “Argus”, over the past four years, an average of about 630 million pieces of edible eggs per year have entered the Russian market.

During the 1st quarter of 2024, the Republic supplied 194.8 million eggs to Russia, which is 3.5 times more than in the same period last year - 55 million pieces. 

In the 1st quarter of 2024, 235.6 million units were imported into the domestic market. eggs from Belarus, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Control and supervisory measures are carried out in relation to all shipped products. As part of the inspection, inspectors carry out a documentary check, check with the labeling on the packaging, and also carry out sampling to ensure the quality and safety of products of animal origin. 

Based on the results of the inspection, a decision is made to allow the import of eggs for further sale in Russia; all incoming products meet the requirements of Russia.
