Rosstat reported that chicken meat in Russia rose by 3.2% in September

Chicken meat in the Russian Federation in September of this year has risen in price by 3.2%, since the beginning of the year - by 19.7%, Rosstat said on Wednesday.

Compared to September last year, prices rose by almost 25%.

For the week from September 28 to October 4, chicken meat prices rose by 1.6%, which was the highest growth rate in the meat market. In 53 regions, prices increased by 0.1-2%, in 24 - by 2.1-5.3%. In 5 subjects the prices have not changed. In Dagestan and the Magadan region, prices fell by 0.2%, in Adygea - by 0.1%.

Eggs in September rose in price by 5.7%, for the week from September 28 to October 4 - by 4.4%. Moreover, growth accelerated - a week earlier it was 3.5%. However, since the beginning of the year, a price decrease of 6.3% has been recorded, but compared to September 2020, an increase of 20.8%.

In September, in 17 regions, egg prices increased by 0.1-3.9%, in 18 - by 4-5.9%, in 16 - by 10-19.9%, in 6 regions - by 20-41, nine%. In 2 subjects the prices did not change, in 7 they decreased by 0.1-5.0%.

In general, poultry meat prices increased by 2% in September, by 13.5% since the beginning of the year, and by 15.2% compared to September 2020.

As the Ministry of Agriculture reported, it agreed with poultry farmers to maintain stable selling prices for poultry carcasses until the end of this year and is preparing a corresponding appeal to the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a request to consider the possibility of setting a corridor for purchasing prices for poultry, taking into account the seasonality of the production of these products.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, in turn, stated that retail chains, with the containment of wholesale prices by poultry meat producers, are ready to ensure the appropriate stabilization of retail prices. Readiness to curb the rise in prices for poultry meat was also discussed at the National Union of Poultry Breeders, where they are waiting for the consent of retail chains to participate in this process.
