The authorities of the Stavropol Territory compensated egg producers 25 million rubles from the regional budget in 2021. The regional Ministry of Agriculture reports that this was a subsidized support for the reimbursement of part of the costs of purchasing feed, veterinary drugs, wages and electricity.
Commenting on the relevance of this support measure, Deputy HEAD of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture Aleksey Krisan noted that it is necessary "in a period of low demand for edible eggs," when producers are "forced to sell eggs at a reduced price," sometimes below cost.
In the Stavropol Territory, four poultry farms are engaged in the industrial production of chicken eggs, which sold over 330 million eggs per year.
