Pork production in the Oryol region is becoming a driver of economic growth.

The data of the territorial body of the Federal State Statistics Service (Orelstat) indicate a significant increase in fresh and chilled pork, including for baby food.

In May 2021, its issuance increased by 15.9%, and in January-May — by 19.3% year-on-year. In May, the production of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products increased by 52.2% over the year, to 4,287.1 tons, and for five months, their output amounted to 19,436.9 tons, which is 51% higher than the result of January-May 2020. 

The number of pigs in the farms of the Oryol region has reached a historical maximum - 698.8 thousand. Since the beginning of 2020, it has grown by 201.6 thousand.
