Acute patulin poisoning in animals can cause damage to the liver, spleen, and kidneys, as well as suppression of the immune system. Patulin is also commonly found in rotten apples and their derivatives and can contaminate other mold-prone foods. This toxic substance is also dangerous to humans, causing gastrointestinal upset and vomiting. Experts emphasize the need for regular mycotoxin testing of feed. The Altai Testing Laboratory analyzed seven samples of compound feed and found no violations.
