FAS checked meat prices in retail chains and found no violations

The Federal Antimonopoly Service checked retail chains in connection with the rise in prices for pork and beef - no violations were found.

According to Rosstat, from May 25 to May 31, prices in Russia increased, including for pork and beef.

"The Federal Antimonopoly Service conducted an analysis of pricing and the reasons for the rise in prices for beef and pork in the largest retail chains. Violations of antimonopoly law were not revealed during the inspections," the service informs.

The FAS recalled that "the observed increase in prices for fruits and vegetables is seasonal in nature and is due to the arrival of the current season's crop in retail chains."
