June 3, Mogilev. A resident of Bobruisk was sentenced for publicly insulting the President. This was reported to BelTA in the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Mogilev region.

As established during the judicial investigation, on January 4, 2022, a woman in a state of alcoholic intoxication called line 102 of the operational duty service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Bobruisk City Executive Committee on her mobile phone. "During the conversation, realizing the public and humiliating nature of her statements, she publicly insulted the HEAD of state," the information service noted.

At the hearing, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the crime charged against her. She explained that she was in a strong emotionally depressed state and, perhaps, expressed insults, but to another person.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the public prosecutor, the Osipovichi District COURT delivered a guilty verdict. On the basis of part 1 of article 368 of the Criminal Code, a Bobruisk woman was sentenced to a restriction of freedom for a period of 2 years with referral to an open correctional institution.

In addition, a means of committing a crime was confiscated from the woman - a mobile phone was confiscated free of charge to the state.

The verdict of the court has not entered into force, can be appealed and protested on appeal.
