July 30, Grodno. A Slonim resident threatened to kill his ex-wife and daughter and faces imprisonment, the press service of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate told BelTA.

The man was drinking ALCOHOL with friends on June 28.A 54-year-old city man had been drinking alcohol when he decided to settle things with his ex-wife.

He went to her home and started a fight, then began strangling her, only letting her go when her 15-year-old daughter intervened. The troublemaker quickly turned his aggression toward the teenager, choking the girl and threatening to kill her. Fortunately, he didn't follow through with his plan.

The troublemaker's daughter later reported the incident. However, during a conversation with law enforcement, she and her mother agreed to settle the matter and stated they had no complaints against the troublemaker. However, officers at the Slonim District Department of Internal Affairs did not condone the man's dangerous behavior. Forensic examinations were ordered for the two victims, which resulted in a legal assessment of the troublemaker's actions. The Slonim District Department of the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case

against the man under the article "Threat to kill, cause grievous bodily harm, or destroy property." The penalty carries a sentence of up to three years in prison. Incidentally, the man had a history of poor behavior and a criminal record.
