August 1, Minsk. A resident of the Baranovichi region, out of jealousy, beat a friend to death. This was reported to BelTA by the Investigative Committee.

According to the department, a 53-year-old man turned to law enforcement agencies tonight and said that he had killed a man. An investigative team immediately rushed to the scene. It was found that the day before, a resident of the Baranovichi district had a rest at home in the company of a friend. Excited by alcohol, he made a scandal on the basis of jealousy, beat his "lover" and went to bed. During the interrogation, the man said that on the afternoon of July 31 he found the body of a woman with no signs of life, but he did not immediately tell anyone, because he knew that he would be detained. During the day he collected all the things needed in the pre-trial detention center and only then called the police.

Investigators and specialists of the UGKSE in the Brest region examined the scene. According to preliminary data, the suspect inflicted at least 20 blows on the body of the deceased. When studying the identity of the defendant, it was established that in 2017 he was released from prison, where he spent more than six years for committing a particularly serious crime.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man for murder committed with particular cruelty. He was arrested and confesses.
