November 23, Mogilev. Investigators have revealed the details of a criminal case on the fact of an accident in Mogilev, which resulted in the death of a cyclist. BelTA was informed about this by Tatyana Starosotnikova, official representative of the USC in the Mogilev region.

The investigators established that, moving along Pervomaiskaya Street, the driver of the dump truck ignored the vehicles that had stopped in the adjacent lane before crossing. Without reducing the speed of movement and neglecting the change of traffic lights, he drove to a pedestrian crossing and hit a cyclist who was crossing the carriageway at a prohibitory traffic light. As a result of the accident, the cyclist received numerous injuries, from which he died two months later in the hospital.

The investigator, with the involvement of specialists from the GKSE and traffic police officers, conducted an inspection of the scene, recorded a trace picture of an accident. The accused and witnesses were interrogated, a complex of forensic examinations was carried out, the conclusions of which were studied and attached to the materials of the criminal case.

it was established that the driver who was driving the dump truck ignored the combination of red and yellow traffic lights, which prohibits movement. Without taking measures to stop the truck, he drove to a pedestrian crossing, where he hit a cyclist. It turned out that the victim was in a hurry to the store and, in violation of the rules, crossed the roadway at a prohibitory traffic light. In addition, he was under the influence of ALCOHOL .

According to the results of the investigation, the actions of the truck driver were qualified under Part 2 of Article 317 (violation of the traffic rules by the person driving the vehicle, negligently resulting in the death of a person) of the Criminal Code.
