Risk, tension and difficulty. Why do people from this family choose to serve in the police?

They consciously chose this fate and did not regret it for a minute. Even in their youth, Sergei and Irina Lizgunov decided that all the hardships, hardships and joys of police service would go through together, as one family. And then son Roman, having seen enough of his parents, decided to follow in their footsteps. Even the youngest, nine-year-old Alexander, trying on his uniform cap and touching his baton, confidently declares that he wants to become, like his brother, a traffic police inspector. I heard from my parents that a policeman must be in good physical shape, which is why he is now intensely involved in athletics. So, it is possible that the dynasty will continue...

HEAD of the family

Police Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Lizgunov has been retired for a year now. True, due to his temperament he couldn’t sit at home without work, and he got a job as the head of the security department. It’s nice to know that the knowledge and experience gained over many years of service in the police can be put to good use. And an extra ruble in the family piggy bank is never superfluous.

Even in his youth, Sergei decided: a policeman was a profession that he liked. Since childhood, I liked helping people, protecting those who were younger and weaker. Meanwhile, the dream of the sea took over. Like millions of Soviet boys, he dreamed of blue distances, big ships and mysteriously alluring distant journeys. Therefore, after school, I entered vocational school No. 226 Petrokrepost, Leningrad Region . After graduating from the Marine Corps, he joined the army. Sergei served in the airborne forces in Georgia.

I returned home and was a little confused: what next? The advice of his future father-in-law, a UDS driver, determined his entire subsequent life: go to the patrol service, he says, you are a responsible, organized person, so everything will work out.

- Since I had my driver’s license in hand, I decided to follow his advice. And I was immediately accepted into the police. By the way, my father-in-law, Mikhail Vasilyevich Bychkov, was a golden man. He served faithfully in the internal organs all his life. I sometimes managed to escape during the service and come to him for lunch. He always greets you firmly by the hand, sits next to you at the table, and a tear rolls down your cheek,” the son-in-law recalls. - Mikhail Vasilyevich had a lot of respect for people in uniform. I knew firsthand that this work is associated with great moral, psychological and physical stress, and not everyone is given the opportunity to walk the thorny path with dignity, withstanding all the tests and without tarnishing their name, the honor of their colleagues and the internal affairs bodies.

According to the interlocutor, the profession of a policeman seems to some to be full of exciting adventures and exciting events. In fact, protecting law and order requires daily, sometimes monotonous work and routine work. Sometimes without vacations, lunch breaks and weekends.

Sergei Lizgunov came to work in the police in 1994. It was a hard time then - at the dawn of our independence there were enough problems.

- I understood that my profession involved long hours, special efforts, risks and psychological stress. But if a person is prepared in advance, knows what he wants and what he is striving for, then he can overcome any difficulties. He started from the very bottom and went through many stages of service in the internal authorities: from a policeman-driver of a separate battalion of the patrol police service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee to the head of the operational duty service of the Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

There were plenty of bright episodes during the service. When I was a local police officer, I once decided to check one of the brothels.

- I enter a gloomy room - and there is a criminal contingent, four men and a woman, drinking vodka. The table is bursting with abundance of food. “And I knew that the other day a store in one of the Mogilev districts was robbed,” he says. “We had to detain everyone and take them to the district department.”

Sergei Lizgunov was armed, but delivering five intruders, including those with criminal records, is a big risk. True, in a certain emergency situation a policeman has the right to use weapons...

- Pulling the trigger is not easy. A psychological barrier is triggered, admits Sergei Lizgunov. - After all, you will shoot at a person! Yes, even if he stumbled, committed a wrong act, but still a person! He has relatives, a mother who gave him life. And the Constitution of the country protects the sacred right to life. Therefore ourThe police use force to suppress illegal actions only in extreme cases and only in strict accordance with the law. In this regard, I was lucky - I did not have to use weapons in the service.

We met early

Irina and Sergei met at school - consider them the age of Romeo and Juliet: she was 15, he was 17. The guys immediately felt a strong romantic attraction to each other. Even naval training did not interrupt their communication. There were no mobile phones then, so they wrote letters, telling in detail about their lives. When the young man came on leave to his native land, Irina noticed that he made an indelible impression on her peers: his appearance, his bearing, his polished shoes. A blue and white striped vest and bell-bottom trousers added a special charm. But Sergei’s heart already belonged only to her, although, perhaps, he did not realize it then... Their relationship was tested by a three-year separation, when the newly minted cadet went into the army - to defend the southern borders of the then single huge Motherland.

- In the dashing 90s, many guys became bandits, some wandered the streets with nothing to do. And Seryozha stood out noticeably against this background. Tall, slender, fit, he looked after beautifully. And it was interesting to just talk to him about life. And I made specific, grounded plans, and, unlike others, I didn’t have my head in the clouds,” Irina admits. - True, six years passed from the moment we met until the official proposal to become a wife. I got married at 21, and at that time this was a normal age for starting a family, when you could already make informed decisions and take responsibility.

Avert trouble

Police Major Irina Lizgunova, like her husband, also went through “her own universities.” She began her service as an inspector of the secret unit of the Mogilev police school of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus . She graduated with honors from this institution and continued to serve in the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Mogilev, the traffic police department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee. Today he serves as a senior inspector in the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.

The police major believes that in law enforcement agencies, unlike other areas, women do not feel discriminated against. They realize leadership qualities in their work and successfully compete with male colleagues, finding a suitable field of activity that allows them to demonstrate a wide variety of abilities.

There is an opinion that a female colleague in the police softens the general climate in the male team, and even interacts more harmoniously and gently when working with offenders.

When Irina Lizgunova worked at the juvenile affairs inspectorate, she often visited dysfunctional families.

- The most difficult thing was to understand other people's family problems. In particularly severe cases, it was even necessary to remove children from unfortunate parents,” she recalls. - We once went into the apartment, and it was all littered with rubbish. Mountains of rags, empty boxes, bottles - not a single free meter. In the corridor there is an impenetrable jungle. If there's a fire , you won't be able to escape from there quickly. And the kids hid in the closet. The mother is cooking something on an antediluvian gas stove. I remember that with this “miracle technique” I even scorched the hem of my uniform. It is clear that children should not live in a garbage dump. Of course, it is not difficult to register a child in a social and pedagogical center, but sometimes it is difficult to awaken the maternal instinct and conscience. But you still hope that the adults will come to their senses and not forget about their offspring. Knowledge of psychology came in handy in my work: sometimes it’s important to just talk, listen, and reassure. Usually, even with difficult families, trusting relationships developed: people understood that I did not work to harm them and that I drew up the administrative protocol because there was a reason for it. Although sometimes I had to meet those whom only the grave could correct. I remember one dad who stole radios from cars at night and used... his minor son. How can you find a common language with such a parent? How to convey that he is digging a hole for a child with his own hands? And how did it all end? The teenager followed in his father's footsteps, alas...

Today Irina Lizgunova’s work is calmer and more measured.

- The profession of a policeman is not only about chasing criminals, as many believe. This is also documentary work, the strict and scrupulous implementation of which is necessary for the normal functioning of the entire system,” summarizes the senior inspector of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee.

- At the beginning of the 2000s, employees of the Traffic Police Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, together with traffic police inspectors, worked on the roads. They stood, as expected, in uniform and monitored compliance with traffic rules. Once I stopped a violator. A charming man gets out of the car and sighs: “I don’t even want to ask what I violated. I’ll pay any fine. The whole day has been pure bad luck. And even a woman “slowed down” on the road.” Nowadays in the traffic police, girls drive cars and motorcycles spectacularly, but back then such a practice was rare, and an inspector in a skirt aroused increased attention and surprise,” smiles Irina Lizgunova.

Son after father

Since childhood, the novel has been inspired by the exciting stories that its parents told . He collected cars, knew the names of almost all brands and models, and was especially proud of one of the copies - a police car with flashing lights.

- I remember once, when asked by a journalist what I would be, I answered: I’ll go to the traffic police! How I looked into the water! However, I entered the Belarusian-Russian University to study mechanical engineering. But the closer the assignment was, the more clearly I realized that I was drawn to the police,” says Roman. - The choice fell on the traffic police, since the service is prestigious, quite interesting and non-office. On the road you communicate a lot with people, you are engaged not only in suppressing crimes, but often you also provide concrete assistance to a person. You have to work in any weather, often see tragedies, road accidents, and issue fines for violations. Drunk drivers also cause a lot of trouble. But you understand: your task is to save fellow citizens from evil on wheels, so that the roads become safer and there are no sad, often tragic, accident reports.

The work of a traffic police inspector also involves night shifts, when you not only keep order on the road, but also help solve crimes.

- There was an incident recently. At about 1 a.m., a tip was sent to a man who broke windows in houses and disappeared. And so we move along the main street and see: someone is hiding behind the trees. Let's go get him. He quickened his pace. A couple of minutes later, my partner and I were already talking with the stranger. It was clear that he was very drunk and confused in his testimony, says the interlocutor. “They offered him to go into our official car, and he suddenly swung sharply at me and tried to strike me in the head. I dodged, but he still managed to hit me tangentially. As a result, we detained the brawler and took him to the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs. As it turned out, the citizen got drunk and, as people say, caught a squirrel. It seemed to him that they were chasing him, that they wanted to take him into the forest. The moral of this story, like many similar ones, is the same: drinking ALCOHOL very often leads to illegal actions. A person in a state of intoxication loses self-control and reacts inadequately to a completely harmless situation. The result is often injury or even death. The culprit of the tragedy, having sobered up, cannot explain his behavior.

Quiet, quiet happiness

The Lizgunov family has almost completed the house. Previously, there were raids outside the city: they would plant beds, paint something, whitewash it, fry a barbecue - and return to the city. And now, it seems, they have decided to settle closer to nature. The owner rebuilt almost the entire “residence” with his own hands, and Roman helped a lot. The wife was responsible for the interior and exterior decor. Landscape design, including a pleasing alpine slide, is her brainchild.

“Of course, I am happy that I managed to create a strong family, that I lived honestly, gave birth to two sons, and built a house,” admits Sergei Lizgunov. “I want to continue to live, make plans and be happy.” But my heart is very worried. How can we abstract ourselves from what is happening on the border of our country? How can you relax here? My wife recently asked me directly: what if something happens, are you ready to “take arms”? I answer: where can I go? A real man must always defend his homeland, family and relatives. And there is no other way.
