December 20, MINSK. In the Gomel region, the prosecutor's office sent to COURT a criminal case on a brutal murder motivated by jealousy. This was reported to BelTA in the information service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Gomel region.

The prosecutor's office of the Gomel region sent to court a criminal case on charges of a 49-year-old resident of the Chechersk region in murder with extreme cruelty. In July 2022, the accused, in a state of intoxication, found a cohabitant at home in the company of another man. During the conflict, out of jealousy, the man violently beat his girlfriend: he struck her at least 34 blows with his hands, feet and a glass bottle, including in the HEAD and neck area. The woman died at the scene of the crime.

After studying the case materials, the prosecutor's office of the Gomel region came to the conclusion that the accusation was justified, the evidence collected was sufficient, and the circumstances of the crime were fully and objectively investigated. Agreed with the qualification of the deed under clause 6, part 2, article 139 of the Criminal Code.

The preventive measure chosen earlier in respect of the accused in the form of detention was left unchanged by the prosecutor when sending the case to the court.
