
August 4, Minsk. At a board meeting chaired by Minsk prosecutor Oleg Lavrukhin, the results of the work of the Minsk prosecutor's office for the first half of 2022 were summed up, BelTA informs citing the information service of the Minsk prosecutor's office.
In the first half of the year, the prosecution authorities of the capital carried out priority supervision in the areas of the economy and the fight against corruption, countering extremist activities, and implemented measures of general and individual prevention in order to maintain law and order. "The measures taken in coordination with other government agencies contributed to a reduction in the number of murders and attempts on them, robberies, thefts, extortion, theft of property by modifying computer information, crimes committed by persons in a state of alcoholic intoxication, previously convicted, as well as a group of persons. There was a decrease by 19.8% (from 116 to 93) in the number of crimes committed by minors. At the same time, there was a general increase in registered crimes by 1.4% (from 9262 to 9392). This happened mainly due to fraud, crimes in the field of drug trafficking and extremist crimes," the prosecutor's office said.The board emphasized the need for prosecutors to pay constant attention to the supervision of the implementation of legislation in the use and disposal of budgetary funds allocated for the implementation of state programs, reimbursement to the budget of funds used in violation of the law, enforcement of legislation on the procurement of goods (works, services).
The issues of formation and growth of debts on taxes, dues and other obligatory payments, observance by business entities of the legislation in the implementation of foreign trade (export) operations remain in the field of view of the prosecutor. The effectiveness of supervision over compliance with legislation in the field of ensuring public safety and preventing the death of citizens from external causes does not lose relevance.
With the increase in the number of criminal cases considered by the courts, the burden on public prosecutors has increased. In this regard, the quality of maintaining public prosecution in the capital and the implementation of prosecutorial supervision over the compliance with the law of court decisions in criminal cases is analyzed. In addition, an assessment was made of the results of work on supervision of the compliance with the law of court decisions in civil cases, the exercise by the prosecutor of the right to file applications in the interests of citizens.
The meeting of the collegium was attended by deputy prosecutors of the city of Minsk, heads of structural divisions of the apparatus of the capital prosecutor's office, district prosecutors and their deputies. The event resulted in measures aimed at increasing the effectiveness of supervision in various areas of prosecutorial activity, taking into account specific challenges to protect the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.
