Man tried to strangle disabled mother in Vitebsk

June 13, Vitebsk. A resident of Vitebsk attacked his disabled mother. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

A resident of the regional center turned to law enforcement officers of the Oktyabrsky District Department of Internal Affairs for help. She said that the 31-year-old son, in a state of intoxication , becomes furious and demands money for a drink. The other day, he went from threats to physical violence. "While in the apartment, the attacker attacked a disabled woman and tried to strangle her. The victim managed to persuade the man to let her go. After that, the son took the money and went to the store for alcohol," the police department said.

The man was hospitalized in the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center for Psychiatry and Narcology. A criminal case has been initiated against the attacker.
