"Analysis shows that about 67% of fatalities occur annually from October to March. At the same time, the peak of growth is traditionally recorded in December-January. The predominant cause of death from a fire is ignorance, neglect of elementary security measures by citizens. Carelessness of people often leads to tragic consequences "Random" citizens often become victims of fire: they become hostages of the situation in which they are led by people leading an asocial lifestyle, including those who drink ALCOHOL. For 11 months of this year, 325 dead were in a state of alcoholic intoxication from fires of people. Carelessness from smoking led to the death of 374 people. "

According to him, the safety culture in our country is growing every year. "However, with the onset of winter, the risks of emergencies increase. Among them is the increased intensity of operation of furnaces," the head noted. "Emergency Ministry units are taking a number of practical measures aimed at ensuring safe conditions for the functioning of life support facilities, the national economy, and housing stock in the winter."

In addition, from December 4 to 12, an action called "Announcer in every house" was organized in the republic. Its main goal is to prevent the death of people from fires in the housing stock, in particular by installing autonomous fire detectors (API) in residential premises. During this period, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations actively visit the households of citizens, carry out individual preventive work to install autonomous fire detectors and check their performance. The commissions pay special attention to the households of single and lonely citizens, large families, as well as citizens leading an asocial lifestyle.

“Every year in Belarus, about 100 people, including about 20 children, are saved thanks to the operation of autonomous fire detectors. Fires often occur at night, when a person is in the most vulnerable position. Therefore, this element is able to work quite effectively to save people,” Dmitry added. Turchin.
