
November 30, MINSK. Inflation in the Eurozone soared to its highest level on record in November due to a sharp rise in energy prices. This was reported by REUTERS with reference to Eurostat data.
Consumer price growth in the 19 countries that use the euro accelerated to 4.9% in November, compared with 4.1% a month earlier, the highest level in 25 years since the calculation of this indicator. Inflation is now more than double the European Central Bank's target of 2%.
Consumer prices, excluding volatile factors such as the cost of energy, food and ALCOHOL, also increased by 2.6% in November, well above expectations of 2.3%.
