Yard showdown almost ended in death for two Minskers

On the evening of November 12, 2022, in the courtyard of a house on Plekhanov Street in Minsk, a 33-year-old Minsker met his old acquaintance. The men began to drinkalcohol . Already late at night, a company of young people appeared next to them. In the hands of one of the teenagers was a portable speaker, from which loud music sounded. The defendant made a remark to the company, after which a verbal conflict ensued between them.

The teenagers remained in the yard, and the man went up to his apartment, took a kitchen knife and attacked the guys. Holding the guys by their clothes, he struck several blows to the vital organs of two young people - 17 and 19 years old.

Friends of the victims called an ambulance. The doctors reported the incident to the police. In the shortest possible time, the attacker was arrested. During interrogation, the man explained that he only wanted to scare the guys, but the alcohol he had drunk caused aggression.

As it became known, the attacker was previously convicted for possession of prohibited substances and evasion from serving a sentence. The man is registered with a narcologist due to dependence on drugs, he does not work anywhere.

According to the conclusions of forensic experts, the wounds inflicted are classified as grievous bodily injuries on the basis of indelible disfigurement of the face and neck.

The investigation interrogated the accused, victims and witnesses, seized and studied material evidence, conducted expert research .

The defendant's actions are qualified under part 1 of article 14, paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 139 (attempted murder of two persons) of the Criminal Code. With the sanction of the prosecutor, a measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.
