Four people died in a day in fires in the Gomel region

November 22, Gomel. In the Gomel region over the past day, 4 people died in fires, BelTA learned from the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

On November 21, at 6:36 a.m., the rescue service received information that a house was on fire in the village of Zadvorye, Rogachev District. When rescuers arrived at the scene, it was completely engulfed in flames. During reconnaissance on the floor in a burning room, they found the charred body of a man born in 1971, who had lived in the house since November 18 with the permission of the employer. The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that recently the man was at different addresses, led a vagrant lifestyle. The fire destroyed the roof, ceiling, damaged walls and property in the house.

At 7:32 a.m., a call about a house fire was received from the agro-town of Borovoye, Lelchitsky district. In the burning room, rescuers found the badly burned body of the owner of the house on the bed. The man, born in 1961, did not work, lived alone, was registered with the village council as abusing ALCOHOL. During the fire, the property in the burning room was destroyed, the roof and ceiling were damaged.

At 22.09, line 101 was informed about a house fire in Eremino, Gomel region. During reconnaissance, rescuers found on the floor in a burning room the charred bodies of the owner of the house, born in 1966, and a man born in 1971, who was visiting him. As told in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the owner lived alone, was at risk as abusing alcohol.

The regional administration added that since the beginning of the year, 403 fires have occurred in the Gomel region due to careless handling of fire, 188 of them due to negligence when smoking. In 88 fires, 95 people died due to careless handling of fire, 59 fires occurred due to smoking, which claimed the lives of 65 people.
