The farms of Transbaikalia plan to raise 48 thousand hectares of fallow lands in 2023

The agrarians of Transbaikalia are ready to assume obligations to put into circulation 48 thousand hectares of unused agricultural land in 2023, said Denis Bochkarev, HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
“Documents for the competition for the selection of projects in order to provide state support for holding cultural and technical events next year were submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA by 14 Trans-Baikal farms. They provided projects for putting into circulation 48 thousand hectares of fallow lands. The implementation of the plan will allow applicants to receive subsidies from the federal budget in the amount of up to 50% of the costs incurred,” the minister said.
it should be noted that this year the agricultural enterprises of the region will have to raise 26.8 thousand hectares of unused arable land, which is 15% higher than in 2021. To date, work on putting the deposit into circulation has been carried out on an area of 7 thousand hectares.
“Agrarian activity in this direction is one of the priorities for us today, as it gives a good impetus to the development of crop production in the region,” Denis Bochkarev explained.
We add that Transbaikalia has a huge potential for fallow lands. The total area of unused arable land in the region exceeds 1 million hectares.
