As of May 11, spring sowing was carried out on an area of 1001.4 thousand hectares, or 35% of the plan.
The leaders in spring sowing are Krasnokutsky (75.8%), Romanovsky (68.2%), Engelssky (61.3%), Turkovsky (60.2%), Kalininsky and Baltaisky (51.6% each), Balashovsky ( 49.7%), Petrovsky and Samoilovsky (47.2% each) municipal districts. In five districts of the region (Bazarno-Karabulaksky, Dukhovnitsky, Lysogorsky, Sovetsky, Novouzensky) 42% of the plan was sown.
“Despite the fact that the farmers of the Saratov region this year started spring field work at a later date, thanks to the high energy saturation of agricultural machinery and wide-cutting units, it was possible not only to catch up, but also to increase them compared to the same period last year,” - said Roman Kovalsky, head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
In the Engels, Krasnokutsk, Ivanteevsky, Petrovsky, Aleksandrovo-Gaisky districts, the sowing of spring wheat has been completed, in Petrovsky, Novoburassky, Lysogorsky, Saratov, Tatishchevsky, Krasnokutsky, Rovno - barley.
