More than 200 thousand hectares are planned to be sown with winter crops in the region.
Nizhny Novgorod farmers have started laying the 2023 harvest. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.
“Agricultural producers of the region have started sowing winter crops for the future harvest. This year, over 200,000 hectares of farmland will be allocated for winter cultivation. This area is planned to be sown with grain: wheat, rye, barley, and rapeseed,” said Nikolai Denisov.
The sowing of winter crops has already begun in Pavlovsky, Sosnovsky, Lukoyanovsky, Pochinkovsky, Sechenovsky, Tonkinsky and Sharangsky municipal districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
“Winter crops will be sown both on previously cultivated farmland and on fields that have not been used for a long time. In recent years, special attention has been paid to the work on putting fallow lands into circulation in the region. For example, this year it is planned to return 25,000 hectares of such land to production, they are reserved for grain and leguminous crops,” Nikolai Denisov added.
The HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture recalled that in order to intensify work on putting abandoned farmland into circulation, state support is provided in the form of reimbursement to agricultural producers of 50 percent of the costs incurred for holding cultural and technical measures - uprooting, plowing, improving the chemical composition of arable land. This allows you to bring the land in proper condition for growing crops on them.
Recall that more than 5.4 billion rubles of subsidies were allocated to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region this year, of which more than 3.7 billion rubles have already been distributed to agricultural producers. The funds were used to carry out spring field work; melioration; reimbursement of part of the costs associated with the acquisition of machinery and equipment; to support producers of MILK and vegetables, support personnel and other areas.
