Don veterinarians continue a series of training events on the prevention, diagnosis and elimination of especially dangerous animal diseases for specialists from regional veterinary services. The exercises are carried out on behalf of the head of the veterinary department of the Rostov region Alexander Kruglikov.

Today, the next, fifth in 2021, field exercises took place in the Myasnikovsky district, and they were dedicated to the elimination of the anthrax outbreak.

According to the legend, before vaccinating cattle on the collective farm, veterinarians revealed symptoms characteristic of anthrax in a number of animals: elevated body temperature (up to 41-42 ° C), muscle tremors, increased heart rate and respiration, hot swelling on the body, swelling in the chest and neck area. The animals looked depressed, showed anxiety and, according to the owner, stopped eating.

The algorithm of actions in case of suspicion and elimination of the "center" of anthrax was worked out not only by veterinarians, but also by representatives of a conditionally dysfunctional economy, local administration and police officers. Pavel Nikiteev, Deputy Head of the Department for Organizing Anti-Epizootic Measures and Treatment and Preventive Work of the Rostov Regional Station for the Control of Animal Diseases, coordinated the course of the exercises.

It should be noted that the epizootic situation for anthrax in the Rostov region is favorable, since August 2014, not a single case of the disease has been registered.

Vaccination is the main method of anthrax prevention.
