Farms in the region have already planted 68,570 hectares (37% of the plan), including 57,700 hectares of grains and legumes, and 8,200 hectares of oilseeds.
This year, a number of agricultural enterprises are introducing new spring crops into their crop rotation. For example, Agro LLC has planted beans and alkaloid-free lupine, and Voronovskoye LLC in the Kozhevnikovsky District has begun sowing rapeseed (200 hectares).
Voronovskoye is engaged in crop production and dairy farming. it sows wheat, barley, oats, rye,Peas and forage crops. The company has the largest cultivated area in the region—over 14,000 hectares. It delivers the bulk of its grain to Tomskie Melny (Tomsk Mills) JSC. Vitaly Vilt,
DIRECTOR of Voronovskoye LLC, explained that the sowing season began earlier than usual. After the perennial grasses were completely harrowed, spring sowing began. More than 21%—3,028 hectares—has already been sown. This year, by reducing fallow land, the company is sowing rapeseed, a variety bred in Altai by the ANIISKH 4. The field was specifically selected away from populated areas to avoid the impact of bees.
"Rapeseed is a marginal crop and can grow until late autumn, but it requires a special approach: its own agricultural practices and specialized equipment. "We're making do with the existing equipment for now, but if the rapeseed experiment proves successful, we'll purchase additional equipment: a rapeseed table , a seeder, and harvesters," noted Vitaly Vilt.
Voronovskoye LLC's herd consists of 1,946 HEAD of Holstein cattle, including 740 cows. In 2021, the farm built a free-stall livestock building with a parallel milking parlor. On average, each cow here produces 7,600 kg of MILK per year. Over the past three years, productivity has increased due to improved feed management and the introduction of a larger number of heifers—a 30% increase. Milk from local cows is processed at Derevenskoye Molochko LLC.
