The Saratov region confidently leads in grain harvesting for the 2023 harvest in the Volga Federal District

“Saratov farmers are successfully coping with the tasks set on the eve of the 2023 harvest campaign. Starting earlier than the long-term average due to weather conditions and working at a faster pace, the region's grain growers provided the region with confident leadership in the Volga Federal District in terms of gross grain harvest. Thus, according to statistics, the Saratov region still leads the top 3 regions of the Volga Federal District, significantly ahead of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Penza region,” said Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government - Minister of Agriculture of the region Roman Kovalsky.
As of September 7, 4,861.4 thousand tons of grain were threshed in the region with an average yield of 23.8 c/ha. 87.4% of the sown areas have been threshed.
The undisputed leader in yield - 40.7 c/ha - is the Balashovsky municipal district. The yield is above 30 c/ha in Arkadaksky, Romanovsky, Rtishchevsky, Samoilovsky, Turkovsky, Ekaterinovsky and Kalininsky districts. More than 90% of the sown areas were harvested by grain growers from 18 municipal districts.
it is worth noting that not only regional media journalists, but also journalists from federal channels have repeatedly talked about the successes of Saratov region farmers this year. Thus, on September 7, a film crew from the NTV channel’s “Central Television” program is working in the region, which will talk about the progress of seasonal field work using the example of the Balashovsky municipal district.
