JSC "Berdiesky Elevator Agro" is engaged in breeding cattle for meat production, incl. and the Hereford breed. This is the only enterprise in the Volgograd region that deals with this breed.
Scientific support of the farm is carried out by GNU NIIMMP (Volgograd), which, with the grant support of the Russian Science Foundation, conducts livestock grading, develops ways to improve the meat productivity of cattle.
JSC "Berdiesky Elevator Agro" closely cooperates with the village school, where a local plant growing team has been organized, for which the enterprise has allocated 100 hectares of land near the school. Schoolchildren have at their disposal not only land, but also all the equipment necessary for this activity. The guys sell all the products they receive to the enterprise, for which they receive money. Thus, after school, graduates are, in fact, ready-made specialists for the enterprise, which, by creating conditions, replenishes the staff with young personnel.
During grazing, animals are watered from wells, because open sources in the heat can be dangerous for animals.
Livestock grazing usually starts by mid-April and lasts until the second half of November - mid-December, depending on the formation of snow cover. The total pasture area is 2500 hectares.
According to the farm development program, it is planned to increase the breeding stock to 600 heads, of which 200 heads are of breeding Hereford breed.
The enterprise also received 25 million rubles from state support. for the construction of an irrigated area of ​​fields.
