In this video, we will talk about the features of working with the Central Russian breed of bees, see the queen cell in the apiary of Rafail Adgamov.
Rafail's apiary is located in the Mamadysh district of the Republic of Tatarstan. It is this region that is the leader in the number of bee colonies in the Republic - about 20 thousand. Most of them are bees of the Central Russian breed.
Raphael's path to beekeeping began 30 years ago with just two hives and as a hobby. There are currently 170 bee colonies on the farm. The main income is generated by the sale of bee colonies and queen bees. In total, there were 150 micronucleuses on the farm, and at the time of filming, all of them were in a shed.
According to Rafail, recently in Russia there has been a bad trend, when the southern breeds of bees (karnika, buckfast, etc.) leave their hives, even with honey, and fly away. So far, there is no explanation for this, but there are suggestions that this process is associated with the development of cellular communications and the widespread use of herbicides. This is not observed for the Central Russian breed of bees, which is why the demand for it has increased.
In addition, the Central Russian breed is distinguished by good health and high winter hardiness. Another distinctive feature of this breed is the ability of the uterus to worm already in April, immediately after the flight, which is why the bees leave the hive early. The Central Russian bee is very hardworking, in one day one bee colony can collect up to 20 kg. honey.
To preserve the purity of the Central Russian bee and develop beekeeping in general, Rafail proposes to carry out explanatory work among beginner beekeepers, to raise the role of beekeeping inspectors in municipalities, and there should also be state support, including legislative.
