Sowing of early spring crops is being completed in the Stavropol Territory

Spring field work in agricultural enterprises of the Stavropol Territory is in an active phase, Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Sergey Izmalkov said at a briefing in the Government.
“Sowing of early spring crops is going on as usual. To date, more than 305.8 thousand hectares, or 40% of the plan, have been sown. In particular, the sowing of early spring cereals has already been completed by 90%, sugar beet - by 60%. Agricultural enterprises are provided with seeds for almost all groups of agricultural crops. For spring field work, farmers purchased over 350,000 tons of mineral fertilizers, which is 20% higher than the demand,” Sergey Izmalkov noted.
According to the speaker, the state of winter crops in the region is assessed as good and satisfactory - more than 97% of winter wheat and rapeseed have sprouted.
